2006 - Current
SUCCESS FROM THE START

SAFA Greater Durban Local Football Association (SAFA GDLFA), formerly known as DCLFA, is one of the 22 district associations within the SAFA Ethekwini Region. It was established in August 2006 through a merger of four football districts: Reservoir Hills, Berea, Cato Manor, and Durban. This merger aimed to unify these districts into a single entity under SAFA's guidance.

AFFILIATE LEGACY AND INTEGRATION

SAFA GDLFA inherited a variety of affiliates through the merger of its founding districts and the addition of teams from the Pinetown and District Football Association. This legacy included teams with varying levels of discipline and commitment. Over time, all teams adapted to meet the demands of SAFA GDLFA, fostering a spirit of unity and cohesion for the sake of the sport. The integration process created a stronger foundation for the district association and helped establish consistent standards across all teams.
